The company was born in Barcelona, in early May 2015, when three members of the La Jove de la Galeria company, Adrián Pérez Ramos (Canary Islands, Spain), Albert Estrada Sánchez (Catalonia, Spain) and Bernat Messeguer (Catalonia, Spain), decided to start up a new journey in order to deepen the work that they began with the show JO:6.
JO:6 is a 50’ piece that fuses dance, circus and narrative, made by 6 performers and produced exclusively by the company La Jove de la Galeria, as winners of the announcement of the residency EscenaNord 2015, in the Esplai Jove Boca Nord. The show was nominated for the Zirkolika de Circ de Catalunya 2015 awards as the best novice company.
Once the project was presented, the company worked with two directors: Bàrbara Bécker and Xavier Rubió, in order to define the interpretative shape of the piece, and the performance was brought to different stages of Spain and Italy.
The concrete work that we want to develop, which has made us begin a new project, it’s a concrete scene of the play, performed by the three boys, which from the experimental dance makes a reflection about the intimate relationships of people. Trobades is the name which this scene is called, and has opened us a lot of doors that we want to cross, in order to create Perill! Zona de Confort.
Later, due to the need of powering the circus part of the company, we started to talk with different job mates and a new artist joined us: Bárbara Vidal (Balearic Islands, Spain), who had shared stage before with us.
At this point, all the components of the project shared our personal and artistic concerns, and we noticed that we had a project full of perspectives, the tools, the knowledge and the motivation to do it, so this is how In-Confort has been born.
We have entered into a path of artistic, professional and personal growth. We want that this path brings us to create a show. We also want to create a company that sets itself into the professional world of scenic arts and that provides us sources to keep working together in future projects, in order to keep growing as scenic arts professionals and develop our artistic concerns.
